Shipping

We use NZ Post for orders in New Zealand, with overnight delivery to urban addresses, while deliveries to a rural address may take a day or two longer. All orders are tracked.

Australian orders - overnight delivery to major cities with DHL

We use DHL Express for deliveries to Australia, meaning if you are in a major city your order will arrive the next working day. For outlying areas, orders take two to three working days to arrive.

Orders are packed to minimise possible heat damage, with prominent "Keep Cool & Out of the Sun" stickers on them. We also monitor weather forecasts and if a heatwave is expected we'll delay shipping until a more suitable weather window.

Australian orders - how many bars make sense?

It makes sense to order five or more bars, and the more chocolate you choose, the lower the shipping price gets. For example, if you choose two of The Foundry Gift Collection of Seven Single Origins, shipping is less than AUD$15.

Shipping thresholds and prices for New Zealand:
- Shipping for orders under $40 is $7.90 to an urban address and $13.90 to a rural address.
- Shipping for orders between $40 - $70 is $4.90 to an urban address and $10.90 to a rural address.
- Orders over $70 ship anywhere in NZ for free

International orders are sent using DHL Express. They are often delivered within days - even overnight to Australian major cities - at the most within a week. All orders are tracked.

Gifting
We can include a hand written gift card with your order. Just let us know the message when you make your order.

Shipping Days
We send orders Monday through Friday. Orders received by 9am on a shipping day will be sent the same day.

Orders are packed to minimise potential heat damage in the post. We instruct couriers to leave parcels in a cool and shaded spot if nobody is home - please make sure you have a suitable spot for orders to be left.

International Delivery - DHL Express
We use DHL Express for international orders. Orders to the are regularly delivered within days, at the most within a week. 

We ship orders of up to 30 bars to the following countries: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, The Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan.

USA and Canada
In big news for our little team, we're thrilled to share the amazing new phase of carefully planned growth for our little chocolate foundry: we now have a North American distributor.

We've joined the lovely group of bean-to-bar craft chocolate makers at Chocolate Squirrel. We met Ella and the team from Chocolate Squirrel at the Northwest Chocolate Festival in 2024. They love our chocolate and are very excited about bringing it to a greater number of craft chocolate specialist retailers in the USA and Canada.

This does however mean some changes for those of you in North America who have been buying online from us. From 11 March 2025 you'll only be able to purchase Foundry from in country retailers, or from us in person at the Northwest Chocolate Festival later this year - yes, we're coming back for 2026!

EU countries and UK
You can find most of our bars with the lovely team at Cocoa Runners in the UK, they ship throughout Europe.

If the country you're ordering from is particularly hot, please note we cannot take responsibility for any melting that occurs in transit for international orders.
